Pauline Viardot: Muse of the Romantics

3 PM
At the heart of Romanticism, a luminary: Pauline Viardot. The legendary singer and inspired composer who was the center of gravity for a circle of some of the most brilliant artists of the 19th century.
This concert is an invitation to step inside her salon and gather around her charismatic figure, while her composer friends offer her their most soulful melodies.
Throughout this journey, the solo piano acts as a breath of fresh air, an intimate space to breathe. It creates a dialogue between Schumann's Reverie and Tchaikovsky's Slavic nostalgia, or Chopin's famous Prelude.
But it is towards the hostess that everything converges. Her Mazurkas, alternately languid and passionate, and her Havanaise with its captivating rhythm, reveal an inner voice of striking modernity.
A musical moment where music becomes confiding. Discover the genius of a woman who was the beating heart of her time.
